I want to give props to Baltimore's new mayor, Sheila Pratt Dixon.  Under her leadership, Baltimore City is once again a shining example of the old adage: "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig!"

One of the big reasons I have not been posting for a month has been work. But the other has been rage.  Pure, unadulterated, unbridled rage.  The votes by Dels. Page Elmore (R-Wicomico) and A. Wade Kach (R-Baltimore) sent me into an apoplectic rage.  Every time I sat down to write, the vitriol was uncontrollable.  But now, I have calmed down (somewhat) and I can think and write clearly again.

Over at Off The Cuff, Straight Shooter starts an interesting conversation about one of Jihad Joe Albero's dumber comments as of late.

With the dawn of 2008, Marylanders awake to a new state of spending and taxation that will make the big-government Keynesianism of the Great Depression pale in tremendous comparison.  New sales taxes, new gas taxes, new tobacco taxes.  The list goes on and on.  Maryland will now reap the benefits of a Martin O’Malley victory in 2006.  Having squandered a $1.4 billion surplus during 2007, the O’Guvnah created a brand new $1.8 billion crisis deficit through the year for 2008 that resulted in some of the largest tax increases ever to fun an ever-expanding fascist bureaucracy and jobs program we politely call “Maryland State Government”.

In a previous post, I argued that we need to “Starve the Beast”.  That is, we need to deprive State Government of its ability to wage war on the hard-earned income of Marylanders.  In this ongoing series, I will posit ideas and concepts on how we can do this.  This will cause pain, and in some cases, it may seem unfair.  But we must be willing to take the battle directly to the thieves and whores of the General Assembly.  If they thought the Special Session of 2007 was painful, we must make their pain even greater, as they are forced to evaluate every nickel of state spending as revenues fall dramatically.

It turns out that former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton can be as much of a bitch as her mother, former First Lady and Junior Senator from New York Hillary Rodham Clinton.

According to mynews.com, Chelsea was asked by 9-year old fourth grader and Scholastic News "kid reporter" Sydney Rieckhof, "Do you think your dad would be a good 'first man' in the White House?"

In an erudite tone one can only expect from a spoiled brat, Chelsea brushed her aside, "I'm sorry, I don't talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you're cute."

If that's the case, then what in the hell are you doing on the campaign trail? Well, I am sure it has something to do with capturing the youth vote.  Of course, poor Sydney and her readers in the "Scholastic News" are too young to vote, so you can just blow them off.

H/T to Michelle Malkin.

If you don't want to play the game, then get off the field.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree, no matter how rotten the tree is.

Yes, I've been MIA for about a month now. I've been working hard on a couple of work projects, so I haven't had the time to be as industrious with my posting as I would like.

I have been commenting over at Off the Cuff and Salisbury Soapbox, but that is about it.

I will be back with a vengeance next weekend.  Some upcoming topics I will posting on:

  • My 2007 Ratfucker Hall of Fame
  • What To Do When Your Government Shreds the Constitution
  • Who Will I Be Voting For?

Charles Krauthammer has a particularly trenchant column on how silly the left's claim that George W. Bush has destroyed our alliances.

As usual, a symptom of BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) is balderdash.

Over at National Review Online, Jonah Goldberg has an excellent column this weekend on the left's never-ending quest to get more people to vote.

I think he makes a valid point toward the end, but I would take a different tact.

Wade Kach has taken the time to write to his constituents explain his vote on HB 4.  I produce it here in its entirety without comment (which I will do later in another post).
