I was a long time Comcast TV customer -- 10 years -- until last Wednesday, when I finally made the switch and had DirecTV installed at my house.
To sum up my experience: Holy Crap! Why didn't I do this years ago?

In all the cultural battles with Islamic extremism, todays modern feminists are nowhere to be found. Why is that?
I find it appalling that these so-called "pro-woman" organizations and leaders cannot find the courage to attack a culture that promotes that notion that women are property and practices the culture of "honor killings".

Taxes, that is. Compulsory contributions to the state revenue pool. Based upon what? A moral judgement.
My uncle is fond of telling me that you "can't legislate morality". He is, of course, wrong. Our entire tax code is replete with legislated morality.
That is all sin taxes are.

It's Day 6 of O'Misery in O'Maryland, and O'Guvnah does not disappoint. The Baltimore Examiner is reporting that O'Guvnah is proposing tough new standards for poultry farms to help cure the ills of the Bay.
I wonder what Rick Pollitt and Barrie Tilghman think of this one?

There is no way that I can cover this entire topic in a single blog post, but I think it is a trenchant question now that the Chairborne Brigade and REMFs (Rear Echeclon Mother Fuckers) in the Pentagon have gone and fired MAJ Stephen Coughlin, USMCR.
According to Bill Gertz at the Washington Times:
Stephen Coughlin, the Pentagon specialist on Islamic law and Islamist extremism, has been fired from his position on the military's Joint Staff. The action followed a report in this space last week revealing opposition to his work for the military by pro-Muslim officials within the office of Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England.
He had run afoul of a key aide to Mr. England, Hasham Islam, who confronted Mr. Coughlin during a meeting several weeks ago when Mr. Islam sought to have Mr. Coughlin soften his views on Islamist extremism.
So can we win the war on terror?

Word from the lovely and vivacious Michelle Malkin on White House plans for an economic stimulus package, as they begin to panic over the subprime mortgage mess, the price of energy, and the "possibility" of recession.
Why is it that politicians always return to failed notions of Keynesianism when they think the economy needs a "stimulus"?
It's as if George W. learned nothing from his own policies...
