Organizing nurses has long been a goal of some of the nation's largest unions. Union labor fights over nurses -- typically between hospital administrations and the unions -- are legion. Unions will often resort to planting organizers in non-unionized facilities just to instigate the organization movement. It's happened before -- at hospitals right here in Maryland.
