1.  The permanent Navy brig facility where a number of detainees have been held.

2.  A sizeable Naval station where our ballistic nuclear missile submarines are worked on.

Niall Ferguson, a noted British author, spreads Fear, Uncertainity and Doubt over at The Telegraph  while worshiping at the alter of the oft-discredited Malthus.  Ferguson, in traditional modern British style, forgets the influence of markets (good and bad) and the results of well-intentioned but stupid policies on the part of government in claiming that our bigger worry should be about grain, not oil.

Before the lefty, American-hating liberals in the country win the fight over a premature withdrawl from Iraq, maybe we should get to know our enemy better-- and understand what will happen to the millions of Iraqi people freed from tyranny if we leave them to the Iranian-backed fighters and Al Qaeda camel-humpers.

We have heard for years that our detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba-- officially known as "Camp X-Ray" -- is a horrific holding pen that brutalizes and terrorizes its captives.  Of course, those captives are held there for fighting an illegal war outside the bounds of the Geneva Convention.  They are universally "illegal combatants" under that "holy grail" of a document.

Well, it turns out that Guantanamo Bay may not be a hell-hole after all.
