I marvel at how the Drive-By Media treats Hillary Clinton. They have repeatedly tried to annoint her as the obvious "First Woman President", despite the best attempts by Barack Obama to remind people that the primaries aren't quite over yet. Feminists are ga-ga over achievement of this goal-- the first "Madame President".
But I wonder...

Dan Rodricks is an ass. What is worse, he is an ass that can't make an argument. That he has survived so long at the Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter is a sign of how crappy that rag really is.
His latest argument that he trots (again, like a bad re-run of Seinfeld) is that we should end class warfare by reinstating the draft.

"Change". It's the only word we hear on the campaign trail today. Every politician claims they are "agents of change". Horseshit. Most politicians aren't smart enough to change their underwear daily with a personal assistant whispering "BVDs, Senator" in their ear.
Americans allegedly want "change". Yeah, right. If you believe that one, you'll believe this: After he lost the NFC Divisional Playoffs, Tony Romo got dumped by Jessica Simpson and she is now living with me and doing my laundry ("BVDs, Jessica... no starch.")

The Joint Staff at the Pentagon, under direction from Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, has begun preparing for a Democrat Victory at the polls in November. Expecting massive cuts to Defense Spending under a Democrat President in order to fund condom instruction in public schools, Transgender Liberty Rallies across the country, and the long hoped-for National House Cleaning and Leave Raking Initiative ("Leave no bottle of Pledge behind!"), the military anticipates that it will have to make do with less, and quickly.
Some photographs of their plans have leaked, and we have them. This is an EXCLUSIVE for the Gunpowder Chronicle. You can view them on our Image Gallery page.

Well, except for me, of course. But I consider myself more of a prognosticator than pundit.
The punditocracy exists for two reasons: pure entertainment during the writer's strike, and so weak-minded people can watch the TV and congratulate themselves on how smart they are, based on how much they agree with the talking head.
Watching all of the predictions coming out of the television this evening as a result of the election results in South Carolina and Nevada, well, just made we want to throw a shoe through the screen.

Does Mike Huckabee hate free speech? I think he just might. This is what Huckabee had to say about push polls made on his behalf:
I personally wish that all of this was outlawed. I think that every candidates should speak for themselves, and that every thing that involves the candidate's name or another candidate's name should be authorized and approved by that candidate, otherwise it shouldn't be spoken....
Hmmm... let's look at what our Constitution says.

Over at my post “Who I am not Voting For, Part II”, Freelander has some comments on my concept of using large scale government “prizes” to encourage development of a practical hydrogen fuel cell.
I had compared such a national “endeavor” to the Transcontinental Railroad, and Freelander made some salient points that I thought merited a full post.

The lovely and wonderful Michelle Malkin has a great post on Stimulation Palooza as the White House tries to outdo the Congressional Democrats on who can stimulate more. It's like watching competing commercials for Viagara and Cialis.
A strong point from her post: if the Feds can give me back $500 now, why take it in the first place.
My own take on the failures of Stimulus are here.

So I looked, and behold, a pale horse and the name of the Rider on Him Was Stimulus, and economic disaster followed with him.
Government sponspored economic stimulus packages NEVER work. The only economic stimulus that works is TAX CUTS. And if President Bush follows his instinct that "government must do something", be sure to check if he is riding a pale horse, because economic disaster will follow.

Remember how all those lefties jumped right and tried to blame George W. Bush for the collapse of the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis last year?
It was really kind of bizarre, since State Highway Departments have jurisdiction over bridge maintenance and repair on Interstate highways in their states. In fact, when it comes to the Interstate Highway System, the Federal Government really only has three roles: 1) banker to the states, 2) promulgator of standards, and 3) investigator of large accidents and mishaps.
Well it turns out that, according to the NTSB, the problem was design-related. There was a design flaw in the plates used in construction decades ago.
It's bad enough when a tragedy like this occurs. But when politicians try to use it to advantage to push their own agenda, that is despicable. Tar and feather, ride out of town on rail despicable.
