Tommy Bromwell is about to be sentenced for his corruption as a State Senator, and it turns out, he has lots of friends in low places.

According to The O'Malley Gazette, over 70 pages of letters from a host of officials, businessmen, and others have flooded the court in anticipation of the sentencing.

Folks like Ed Hale, Nelson Sabatini, former State Senator Francis X. Kelley, Dutch Ruppersberger, and Tommy Phelan have been putting their markers down for this corrupt, bloviating jackass who used his office for personal gain.

Get a clue people:  he violated the public trust.  And I don't care what he did in the Maryland General Assembly, that violation should be punished and punished harshly.

We don't send Delegates and Senators to Soddom on the Severn to enrich themselves.  We send them to conduct the people's business.  To spend wisely.  To legislate wisely.  Not to get jobs for your wives and get hooked up with home renovations.

Lock his corrupt ass in a real Federal Penitentiary (not a Club Fed) and make him do some real time.

Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Patrick Cavanaugh has shown that there are still judges "with a pair".  He has denied the defense motion to throw out the finger print evidence in the murder trial against Bryan Keith Rose for the brutal slaying of a Cingular store owner at Security Square Mall last year.

Cavanaugh's comment?  "In this case, a jury is going to be the trier of the facts."

Maybe he read my previous post on this matter.

According to WBAL-TV.com, Mayo Shattuck and BGE plan to ask for a rate increase on the electricity delivery charge in 2008.

He is nuts.

I received the following email from a reader in the beautiful town of Delmar (not sure if it was Delmar, MD or Delmar, DE, but that isn't important):

Might I ask that you refrain from using Delmar in conjunction with, or reference to, JJ?.  Each time I see it, it makes me cringe.  Most people in our small town consider him to be worthless and vile and it really throws us in a bad light.

Because the email was so nice and polite, and I feel for Delmar's pain, I shall willingly oblige their request.

And I wish them all the best.

If member of Maryland's House of Delegates and the Maryland State Senate refused to present themselves for the Special Session?

Would the lack of a quorum suspend business?

Is the Governor empowered to force their attendance using the State Police?

Does anyone know?

Maryland, My Maryland!  The Despot's Heal is On Thy Shore!

This line from our old State song speaks perfectly to the situation we face now in the Old Line state.

As Soddom on the Severn gears up and Marylanders start grabbing their ankles, the fundamental question we should ask: will K-Y jelly be taxed to?

Peter Franchot, the state Comptroller, and usually a reliable lefty collectivist, seems to be the only elected adult in Maryland state government.

He is urging the legislature to wait until the tax estimates report comes out in December before acting in haste to rape Maryland taxpayers.

Bravo for him!

Justice delayed is justice denied.

In an update to my earlier post "Bad Judge Makes Bad Law" , word is out on the O'Malley Gazette that Baltimore County Circuit Court Administrative Judge John G. Turnbull II has granted a prosecution request to delay the start of the trial of Bryan Keith Rose as a result of Judge Souder's ridiculous ruling that fingerprint evidence cannot be used in the trial.

In the words of Prosecutor Jason League, "This ruling virtually overturns 100 years of jurisprudence with respect to the admissibility of latent fingerprint evidence."

Meanwhile, the family of Warren T. Fleming is denied the opportunity to see his alleged murderer brought to justice.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

Thanks, Judge Souder.  I hope you are never the victim of a crime where the prosecution has to rely on fingerprint evidence.

The O'Malley Gazette is reporting this morning that Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Susan M. Souder has barred the use of partial prints in the murder trial of Bryan Keith Rose.  Rose is charged in the murder of Warren T. Fleming outside of Security Square Mall in January of 2006.

The order issued by High Priestess Souder is bad law and trumps our jury system.
