I want to throw some props to my Delegate, A. Wade Kach, for Co-Sponsoring HB 259.  This law would make it illegal to require anyone to present a Social Security Number when such presentation is not required by State or Federal Law.

One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Social Security Number is that it is not supposed to be a general id number. It is only supposed be used for tax purposes (which includes most banking applications), according to the amended Social Security Act of 1948.  That provision was included after the heinous us of identification tattoos by the Nazis was introduced.

Unfortunately, all sorts of businesses love to gather this information.

If Delegate Kach is reading this, it would be great for someone in his office to put together an official list of how that number can be used.

The Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter is reporting that Baltimore City Schools Chief Andres Alonso is proposing that the schools pay up to $110 per student if they increase their scores on the state graduation exams.

It has finally come to this: full surrender.  The public schools of Baltimore City can longer educate the children in their charge, and their parents (when there are any who aren't hopped up or stinking drunk) can't make them learn, so now we will bribe them.

Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little LiesThe Clinton's had "Don't Stop... Thinking About Tomorrow". O'Guvnah -- who fashions himself the next version of Bubba -- has his own little Fleetwood Mac song.  Can you guess which one?

No, it's not Tusk. Not hardly.  That might make him an Elephant.  And it's not The Chain.  Or Rhiannon (although she is an Irish witch... hmmm..)  Gold Dust Woman? (now who would THAT be?)

Hmm... there is really only one choice...

Did you know that O'Guvnah was a HUGE Beatle's fan?  It turns out that he LOVES the Beatles.  It turns out that the Beatles love him, too. Well, at least George Harrison and John Lennon, do.  Back in the days when J. Millard Tawes ruled the roost in Soddom on the Severn, John and George were composing their one and only love song to the future O'Guvnah:

Now that certain legislators got caught taking money during the Special Session (something which is completely forbidden during the regular 90-day session), the General Assembly is scrambling to cover their petards.

Apparently, Senator ManPerm Miller had to personally admonish his fellow Senators today not to do deposit any checks during the 90-day session, even if the money was received before it. "We have to avoid even the appearance of impropriety," said ManPerm from the dais in the Senate Chamber.

Ooooh Reaaaaally?

Union-owned Norm Conway, Chairman of the House of Delegates' Appropriations Committee and Delegate from Wicomico County made the grand mistake of commenting to the Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter today.

Norm "$15,000" Conway then broke one of the cardinal rules of life:  it's better to let people think you are an idiot, than to open your mouth and confirm it.

Environmental Science Merit BadgeThere are days when I wished in Harford County.  They have some visionary leaders there that look at problems and see the potential for solutions.  Real solutions.  No liberal facist tropes about raising taxes, and compulsory "good government" nonsense.  Real solutions that solve multiple problems

One such example is today's Calvert Street Communisty Party Newsletter article on Harford County's plans to replace their waste-to-energy plant.

Delegate Rick Impallaria has decided to step up and take on the Maryland Surrender Caucus.  Kudos to him!  It's nice to see a fellow conservative step it up and not be afraid to mix it up with his fellow Republicans.

Full press release from Rick Impallaria is posted below:

In O'Guvnah's make believe world in Soddom on the Severn, money does grow on trees, my fellow Marylanders. And just like trees, you can burn it without worry of penalty or retribution from we merry little serfs out here in the hinterlands.

In fact, you can blow $65 million in voting maching technology before it is even paid off, and no one will bat an eye.

Michael over at Monoblogue asks this question in examing the story in the Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter about declining Republican registration numbers in the face of skyrocketing Democrat registration numbers.

He lays out a decent analysis, even going so far as to highlight the principles of the Republican Party and ask some poignant questions.

But I think the answer is much simpler, and the Maryland Surrender Caucus is not going to like it.
