I want to give props to Baltimore's new mayor, Sheila Pratt Dixon.  Under her leadership, Baltimore City is once again a shining example of the old adage: "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig!"

Del. Shawn Z. Tarrant, a Baltimore City Democrat, wants to more tightly regulate -- if not outright ban -- a flavored cigar variety called "Black and Milds" because they are popular.

Yeah.  That makes sense.

Baltimore holds their primary elections on Tuesday, September 11, 2007.  Of course, since Baltimore is the ultimate one-party town, this really amounts to the primary election and general election all rolled into one.

So who do I think should win?

Baltimore's FOX 45 is reporting on their website that the city is slowing down-- maybe even stopping their efforts to sell the large number of residential and commercial properties currently on city books.

If true, this represents a poor, pathetic vision on the part of City leadership and a continuation of the rampant stupidity that has plagued the City since the administration of Kurt Schmoke.
