Del. Shawn Z. Tarrant, a Baltimore City Democrat, wants to more tightly regulate -- if not outright ban -- a flavored cigar variety called "Black and Milds" because they are popular.

Yeah.  That makes sense.

I want to give props to Baltimore's new mayor, Sheila Pratt Dixon.  Under her leadership, Baltimore City is once again a shining example of the old adage: "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig!"

As we roll into Day 10 of O'Misery in O'Maryland, we embrace the fundamental LACK of leadership that O'Guvnah represents.  He's less than a pretty face in the State House.  He's a Crackberry addict working hard to bring his spectacular string of failures from Baltimore City to the ENTIRE state of Maryland.

That's right, O'Guvnah's goal is to bring the same crime problems, budget problems, school problems, and cultural problems to the Entire State, from the golden seashore of Worcester County, the mountain majesty of Garrett County.

But today, I want to look at dumbass comment number 1,300,364,223 from O'Guvnah.

The Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter is reporting that Baltimore City Schools Chief Andres Alonso is proposing that the schools pay up to $110 per student if they increase their scores on the state graduation exams.

It has finally come to this: full surrender.  The public schools of Baltimore City can longer educate the children in their charge, and their parents (when there are any who aren't hopped up or stinking drunk) can't make them learn, so now we will bribe them.

The Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter has a "preview story" on the new budget for Baltimore City Schools, and from what I read, I have to say that I am impressed.  It seems like there is finally an adult running the show down on North Ave.

By now, I am sure you have heard about the Federal Reserve bailout of Bear Stearns (in collaboration with the assistance of JP Morgan) that occurred this morning.

But do you know why this all started?  It's simple.  Ed Hale's 1st Mariner Bank made and egregious number of BAD loans out of its fianance unit, which it had sold to investment houses on Wall Street.  The majority of these loans were sold to Bear Stearns.  And that vast majority of these ALT-A loans originated out of 1st Mariner's Northern Viriginia offices, an operation (since closed) that is now under investigation by the FBI for conspiracy to commit fraud, fraud, and theft.  The number of bad loans generated in the Northern Viriginia operation might top 70%.

It should be noted that the fraud was being committed without the knowledge of 1st Mariner Bank Executive Leadership.

Over at O'MalleyWatch.com, Mr. Watcher has a great write up on the deft corruption that Martin O'Malley and his Shin Fein Footsoldiers have brought to state government:  holding conferences before they are approved by the Board of Public Works, then billing aftewards.

Why doesn't this constitute mail fraud?

Now that the slots hurdle has been half-cleared through the fourth-quarter punt by the General Assembly, it was only a matter of time before the "casino" wardrums started beating.

And they are banging like drum corps, according to O'Malley Gazette.

John Paterakis must be pleased.  He'll finally be able to use that Marriott for what he wanted all along.

Public schools have more problems than just funding, or hiring qualified teachers, or feeding malnourished children.

They have 13 year olds attempting to rape staff members.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised, given the number of attacks against school officials this year -- 120-- and the number of charges filed -- 7.  There is no real discipline for these little shitbirds or their worthless, feckless, parents.

Personally, I hope this little 13-year pile of walking turd gets charged as an adult.  Let him spend a little time in Hagerstown or ECI -- say, 8 years -- and find out how tough he isn't.

He needs to learn the lesson:  if you want to act like a man, you've to to take it like a man.
