Okay, so last night, I put a huge bag of bottles/plastic/cans out for recycling.  I mean big-- 55gallon drum liner size.  I noticed it hadn't been picked up until after 11.

Then around 12, lo and behold, I look down the road, and my neighbor's bag is still there.  Then comes Probst picking up bags.

Who in the heck steals recycling materials?

Bizarre...

Vicki Gribble, in a Letter To the Editor of the North County News paints north county residents with a pretty broad brush that I think is pretty unjustified.

What's up With Pat van den Beemt?  In my previous post, I detailed how Pat van den Beemt failed to ask some crucial questions and challenge some statements by the Hereford Volunteer Ambulance Association.

Going back through the archive, I notice she bought the story from Maryland Line VFD hook, line and sinker, too.

There's something fishy in Hereford these days, and I have to wonder if the North County News is really interested in all the facts. It doesn't seem so from this story.

From Cockesyville Precinct Commander Marty Lurz:

Special Attention to residents of the northern portion of Precinct 7 - Upper Parkton, Bentley Springs, Five Forks, and residents of Bentley Road and Cameron Mill Road:

Folks,

We are asking for the area residents' help in identifying those responsible for a recent rash of destructions of property in these areas, all of which seem to be occurring after dark. We are investigating several incidents involving mailbox-bashing, theft of lawn ornaments from front yards, destruction of lawn ornaments, etc. In a recent incident, the person/s responsible used a tube of caulk to write on driveway surfaces and cars. We have increased patrols of these areas but the subjects responsible have not been identified.

Past experience has shown that many times word travels through the community as to who may be responsible for these acts, but folks don't always realize the extent of the damage and the effect it has on the entire community and don't come forward with the information. If any residents are aware of the identity of the person/s responsible, or has reason to believe that someone may be responsible, please call the Precinct 7 Investigative Services Team at 410-887-1823 or the Precinct 7 Community Outreach Team at 410-887-1863. You do not have to provide your name. We will follow-up on any information provided.

Meanwhile, be aware of these incidents and stay alert to suspicious noises and activity. Please - don't hesitate -call 911 to have a patrol car dispatched to investigate. If a license tag number of a suspicious vehicle can be safely obtained, provide that to the 911 operator.

Thanks for your continued cooperation.

Captain Martin Lurz
BCoPD Precinct 7

The news that Marty the Mick has appointed Baltimore County Police Chief Terrence Sheridan  as MSP Superintendent is bad news for Baltimore County, and worse news for the State of Maryland.

Well, Randy Shelley is going to be building five new houses in Parkton, taking away some nice woodland and really screwing the neighborhood.  What else is new?
