Do you remember The West Wing? It was NBC's vision of what the White House was really like -- and what a centrist Democrat Whie House could be -- right smack dab in the middle of the Clinton Administration. It wasn't exactly "ripped from the headlines", but it was pretty close... right up to the last season. When all of a sudden, the writers seemed to have a crystal ball.
You see, in the last season, we saw the election campaign unfold of a lifelong Republican Senator from California who was more maverick than Conservative versus a Congressman with very little experience. The first Hispanic candidate for President ever, who was not supposed to win the nomination, and challenged the party bosses to eventually win the nomination... and the election.
It just makes me wonder if Aaron Sorkin new something five years ago that we didn't. It's really strange and really scary when life begins to imitate art. Really strange.
