Washington Mutual -- the bank famous for making fun of "stuffy old banks" -- has been taken over by the Office of Thrift Supervision and its assets sold to a stuffy old bank -- JPMorgan.
You have to love the irony. Washington Mutual was one of the biggest no-doc/interest only/subprime loan whores in the United States. I don't weep for them. I say "good damn move". The executive leadership of WAMU should be defenestrated, and banned from working in the banking industry for 25 years.
It's time to start making these so-called businessmen pay for turning the nation's banking and finance system into a giant craps table.
