Joe Biden is an asshat.

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened,” Sloe Joe Biden told CBS News.

Hey Joe, better brush up on your history.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected in Novemer of 1932.  He was inaugurated on March 4, 1933.

Television was just a pipe dream in 1929 AND 1933.  It would not appear on the scene until the 1939 World's Fair.

And, if you know anything about history, Roosevelt didn't really begin queing up the "princes of greed" talk -- and action -- until 1936, when he directed the IRS to go on a war hunt against Sam Insull and Andrew Mellon.  Mellon was Jean Valjean to future SCOTUS Justice Robert Jackson.  Roosevelt didn't like the fact that the rich were using legal loopholes in the tax code to avoid the 79% tax rate he pushed through in 1936.  Roosevelt even tried to change "tax avoidance" (legal activity) into "tax evasion" (illegal activity).  He went so far as to try and order prosecutors to prosecute tax avoiders retroactively.

Oh, and before we annoint FDR for sainthood, it should be noted that unemployment was WORSE in 1937 than it was in 1930-- and that was after five years of the "New Deal".
