Barack Obama continued to put the "O" in moron last night at the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency. When asked when at what point a baby gets human rights, Obama whiffed the answer, saying that the answer was above his pay grade.
Really? Are we to expect that a man running for the office of President of the United States of America -- who will be in a position to propose or sign legislation related to this very question, not to mentio promulgate regulations through Executive Order, or nominate judges for the Federal Judiciary who will certainly rule on such a question -- believes this to be above his paygrade?
What, pray tell, is "under" his paygrade, then? Obama likes to flaunt his experience as a constitutional law scholar, and he wants us to believe that a sitting US Senator -- who advises and consents on the previously mentioned judges -- should consider such issues out of his purview?
As David Freddoso noted over at National Review Online today, the National Right to Life Committee has documented how Obama -- as a lowly state senator, with a substantially lower paygrade -- decided to oppose a law that would have explicitly conferred human rights on the survivors of botched abortions in the state of Illinois.
OMoron was the only state senator to vote against the bill on the floor of the State Senate. Even after the committee he was on passed out the amendment he demanded.
So why was the issue "under his paygrade" then, and "above his paygrade" now?
Maybe because Barack Obama is both a deceitful walking colostomy bag and just plain stupid?
Or, maybe it is because he is an enthusiastic supporter of a procedure that kills unborn children in vile and vicious ways, and he knows that makes too many voters queasy? Especially Catholic and Evangelical voters that he must peel away from John McCain. And especially when a fair number of those 40 million abortions that Rick Warren mentioned last night were abortions of minority children. So many in Baltimore, Maryland alone that it has lost an entire Congressional District in that time.
If Barack Obama can't determine when a child is conferred human rights, then how can he determine when an illegal combatant should get enemy prisoner of war rights? if Barack Obama cannot determine when a child is conferred human rights, then how can he determine when they are due civil rights?
Do we really want to elect a moron who tries to dodge a fundamentally important question with "well, that's above my paygrade".
Is that the answer you will give if the nation has to go to war? Or when a federal convict on death row appeals to you for clemency? Or when the CIA is pleading with you to allow a little bit of torture because some nutjob is loose in the US with a suitcase nuke?
Being President of the United States is not some varsity version of dodgeball, you stupid dumbass. Maybe if you focused a little more on those "Kansas values" you claim to have, you might get that. Leadership is not about dodging questions, its about answering them -- even when you answer may not be what people want to hear.
OMoron got it wrong on both counts: we didn't want to hear his answer, which was a non-answer answer.
