Everyone stand up and applaud Paul J. Wiedefeld, the Maryland Mass Transit Administration head. He has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that people rise to the leve of their incompetence. For the third time in 2008, we have serious issue with MTA vehicles that puts a substantial part of their fleet at risk.
The Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter reports that 220 buses of the MTA fleet were pulled off the street in July for inspections after a serious brake problem started causing fires. That is pretty bad, following murder on buses earlier in the spring, and the "grounding" of 53 cars of the Light Rail inventory due to wheel cracks earlier this summer.
This is bad enough -- that a substantial portion of the bus fleet had a serious safety impairment. But what is worse is that the MTA did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to notify the public that there was an issue. Do Paul J. Wiedefeld or O'Guvnah, not think that the public -- taxpayers, riders, or both -- have the right to know that a serious issue was occuring on MTA buses? Will O'Guvnah try to hide behind Paulie Walnuts now and pretend he was never notified of the problem? Better yet... why hasn't this info shown up on StateStat? According to the CSCPN it was only because of an anonymous phone call that they were able to uncover the details of the fleet recall.
O'Guvnah and his band of useful idiots in state government love to lecture us on how we should be making better use of mass transit. We should spend more on it. Poeple should use mass transit instead of their cars.
Well, maybe taxpayers would be willing to put more money into mass transit if the government down in Soddom on the Severn was not so damned incompetent in running the programs they now have. Why should any taxpayer in the state of Maryland be willing to invest in a government program that is so fundamentally incompetent and inept that monkeys flinging crap from trees look more successful?
The answer of course, is that O'Guvnah and his band of useful idiots -- including Paul J. Wiedefeld -- are competent enough to pour piss out of a boot with instruction written on the heel. Forget about finding their own asses with both hands and flashlight.
Of course, this is somethign most likely that will be blamed on Bobby Ehrlich. If only the voters of the State of Maryland had possessed better appreaciation for four decades of one-party rule, then this would never have happened. But we know better. We know that O'Guvnah, eager to undo the three or four political appointments that Bobby was able to make, had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for every ratfucking, ass-clown liberal Democrat to fill state positions.
And so, Paul J. Wiedefeld was allowed to rise to his own level of incompetence, and bring his special brand of leadership (read: absofrakinglultely none) to the MTA.
