Last night I watched part of HBO's Generation Kill, a dramatized version of Evan Wright's book of the same name.  I remain impressed.  Part 2 picked up with the immediate aftermath of the invasion, and the run up route 7 through the fire fights in Nasiriyah.

Confronting incompetent commanders, bizarre Rules of Engagement, and a seeming lack of strategy, the Marines of 1st Recon confront the realities of the Fedayeen, ambushes, and the violence of war for the first time.  Torn between witnessing the violence to civilians and their own desire to "get some", the Marines of 1st Recon do their best to do their duty.

My favorite character so far is the Company Commander for Bravo Company, who is about as clueless as you can imagine.  I have to wonder if this is a real character, or an amalgam. Same goes for the Sergeant Major, who seems just a little too gung ho.

Again, just like with Part 1, I recommend Generation Kill. It's entertaining an insightful, just like David Simon's other dramas.
