Sheila Pratt Dixon has named new leadership for BACVA and the Convention Center.  She has essentially merged the boards, and renamed the new board the Baltimore Convention and Tourism Board.

And, in a move that is completely indescribable and totally amazing, she has named Baltimore banker Ed Hale, Chairman of 1st Mariner Bank, to head the new board.

Given Ed's willingness to buy new breasts for his girlfriend news anchors, I wonder what Eddie had to give up for this choice little appointment?

Does Mayor Dixon even realize the trouble that Ed's development arm -- Canton Crossing, LLC -- is in?  He still faces not one but two mechanics liens against his precious Canton Crossing/First Mariner Bank Tower. He was able to avoid another potential lien by making a "good faith" payment on outstanding invoices to Bowings & Huber, LLC for electrical and cabling work.  But now there is a new contract suit against Canton Crossing by Red Coats, Inc./Admiral Security Services that was just file on June 9th.

The lesson here is that Sheila Pratt Dixon has not learned one damn thing about being careful about the people she associates with.  Unless this is payback to Ed for his silence on another of his old running partners...
