By now, everyone knows that 4 Boy Scouts died at Camp Little Sioux this week when the camp was hit by a horrifying tornado.
But what you might not know is that some organizations on the extreme socialist left in this country are trying to score points off those deaths by hawking the tornado as the result of global warming.
Before I completely and absolutely lose my temper, let me make a couple of things clear. First, I am proudly an Eagle Scout, Class of 1989. Second, I worked on summer camp staff at Henson Scout Reservation, Camp Nanticoke for five years, and at Rodney Scout Reservation for one year. I have camped at or visited some of the finest Scout Reservations in this nation-- including Broad Creek, Henson, Rodney, Hawk Mountain, Horshoe, and Treasure Island. I know the quality of the men and women that staff these camps. And I know the training and preparation that goes into every Staff Week preparing for these what-if scenarios.
And I have been through a similar disaster -- but without the fatalities -- myself, as a camper at the 1985 Scout Jamboree. In 1985, Hurricane Bob made a sudden and unpredicted right turn into northern Virgina and glanced Fort A.P. Hill, home of the National Scout Jamboree since 1981. A Scout city of 35,000 youth and 15,000 adults was nearly flattened in under an hour. The simple fact was you could not possibly evacuate 50,000 campers. And so we bunkered in. We got wet. Really wet. But we survived, and today we tell the story with a little more bravado and a lot more fun every time.
Unfortunately, four Scouts were not so fortunate. Their deaths are tragic, and my heart aches for their families and their friends. But my heart also aches for the staff members and adult leaders at that camp. I can only imagine the anguish and self-recrimination they are going through. But I know that in the midst of horrific disaster, they showed the mettle of Scouts. They Did Their Best. They kept their Oaths.
But I cannot, and will not be nearly so kind to the miserable, low-life scumbags that populate the Center for American Progress. They have issued a horrific and miserable press release that dishonors these Scouts and their memories. They are shameless, irresponsible, unpatriotic people without grace or compassion. They are ratfucking little miserable bastards. My only comfort is that there is a special level of Hell reserved for these whores trading on the trumped-up alarmism of global warming, pushing an agenda over the still warm bodies of the deceased.
I have no regard for any person or supporter of the Center for American Progress. Progress? This is retrograde devolution of the worst kind. If Faiz Shakir, Amanda Terkel, Satyam Khanna, Matt Corley, Ali Frick, Benjamin Armbruster, or Brad Johnson had the courage to stand before me know, I would draw and quarter them and pound their remains to dust.
Their actions are completely and totally despicable. They are inhuman, and I will NOT EVER give them the basic decency any human deserves.
