According to the Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter, Governor Marty the Mick O'Malley is digging in tighter than a tick over the firing of Greg Maddalone, and plans to appeal the judge's ruling that Maddalone was fired illegally.
Judge Susan Sinrod had ruled against the administration, claiming that Transportation Secretary Porcari had fired Maddalone -- a midlevel bureacrat -- without so much as a peak at his personnel file. In fact, the judge found that Porcari fired Maddalone solely on the unsubstantiated rumors that Maddalone had been involved in the "house cleaning" initiated by Governor Bobby.
So now, the fiscally prudent Marty the Mick is going to spend precious state dollars to continue fighting a case where the state got bitch-slapped by a judge. Nice. Say, Marty the Mick, what happened to that structural deficit? I guess that doesn't count too much when you are just getting even.
Let's hope this isn't the last of the judicial bitch slaps Marty gets in the next four years.
