Now that I am back in the "commuting class", and I have to drive through a big swath of Baltimore City on a daily basis, I am going to start a new feature here called "Stupid Pedestrian Spots"

This week:  Lexington Market @ Paca Street.

The pedestrians streaming out of Lexington Market onto Paca Street are from the shallowest end of the gene pool.  If I did not know better, I would swear they were part of government-sponsored experiment to meld human DNA with white-tail deer DNA and squirrel DNA.

Pedestrians regularly cross en masse through three lanes of traffic on Paca Street, oblivious to the crosswalk indicators or the traffic signals.  In the month since I have been travelling home via this route, I have nearly been rear-ended 5 times, and almost killed 6 pedestrians.

And what do the police do?  Absolutely nothing. In fact, they regularly sit right in front of Lexington Market and watch this herd of death in all their jaywalking glory.

Do you have a favorite Pedestrian Spot?  Let me know...
