According to Fox News, John McCain said the following in a speech today:

In this struggle, scholarships will be far more important than smart bombs.

Someone please tell him to shut his frakking mouth, because with comments like that, he will lose an election that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are trying to hand him on a silver platter.

Is this man serious?  These people don't need scholarships.  If you took all of the so-called "moderate Muslims" in the world, and put them in one place, you might fill a footall stadium.  They need a swift kick in the ass, and a reminder that if they want to join the civilized world, they need to get their frakking act together and stop murdering people with wanton disregard.

We don't need to let MORE Muslims into US universities.  That approach worked out so well, given how many of the 9/11 hijackers were actually here on STUDENT VISAS.  If they want to come here, they should earn it.  Why should we shell out scholarship money to foreigners from countries that don't like us, when we have plenty of red-blooded Americans who can't afford college on their own.

This idea is about as dumb as Norman Conway's completely assinine and retarded idea to give juvenile delinquents full rides at state universities. (First, there are already enough juvenile delinquents in the state university system, they just were never caught when they were minors.  Second, the rest of them are professors.)

I cannot believe that an educated man with the experience of John McCain would suggest that we can solve the problem of radical Islam through scholarships.  What an obnoxious, self-inflated gas bag.

But then, he also doesn't think that McCain-Feingold abridges the First Amendment.

So maybe I am the stupid one for thinking he might just change.

I strongly suggest that you do some basic research on world religion. Islam is a religion of 1-2 BILLION people worldwide, and it is a very diverse community. Your remarks are frankly racist and offensive, and I hope you do not continue to write publicly until you become a responsible citizen and inform yourself properly.

Actually, Drios, I have done some "basic research" on world religion. I actually spent a summer traveling in major Islamic country. I am all too familiar with the tenets of Islam, its violence, is misogyny, and its abhorrence of freedom and liberty.

My comments are not racist, and if you are offended, don't come here.

If we determined whether a faith or ideology was reasonable or acceptable solely based on the number of adherents, then Nazism, Communism, monarchism and imperialism would not be on the ash heap of history.

Not to mention Jim Crow.

Numbers do not give any "movement" credibility and protection.

Please take your weak arguments elsewhere.

I appreciate that you have traveled in an Islamic country. Where were you? I have also traveled in multiple Islamic countries, and as I mentioned in my previous post, they are all quite different. I dont wish to defend the small extremist elements of the Islamic community which do exist, and I also reject the aspects of the more orthodox Islamic communities where women's rights are systematically repressed. This is by no means the majority of the world's Islamic population. For this same reason I also reject the intolerance that exists among certain elements of the evangelical Christian movement, but not all Christians. So when I recommended that you get informed, I specifically meant that you learn about the diversity in the Islamic community, and maybe even take a look at the Koran. You'll find that it's basic teachings are remarkably similar to the bible.
