The Maryland Senate, who takes no pain in soddomizing the citizenry of Maryland on a daily basis, continues to throw us all under the bus when it comes to energy policy. Today, they gave us the glorious right of being informed when utilitiy companies up and decide to add a surcharge to our bills to pay for "energy efficiency programs".
I have a question: whatever happened to contract law in this state? With an entire chamber all but filled with whoring, ambulance chasing attorneys, you would think that tort and contract law would be something they might be concerned about.
Apparently, no. Because the Maryland Senate is not smarter than a 5th grader. Or a five year old.
Having completely boned the state of Maryland with the "glorious" cause of electricity deregulation (which ranks only next to the Teapot Dome Scandal and the Sioux Treaties as the single worst swindles in the government history), they now will allow utility companies to add surcharges to help pay for so-called "energy efficiency programs". Programs that are determined at the whim of the utility. Programs that are outside the service agreement entered into by customers. Programs that benefit the utility at the cost of the consumer. Programs that are outside the scope of the customer-provider contract.
Why do we even need representative government anymore? We should name O'Guvnah king and be done with it, because the Maryland Senate has PROVEN that an elected legislature can, in fact, trample a man's rights as easily as any king. And O'Guvnah has proven he has no stones at all, as his Public Service Commission has proven itself to be as feckless and worthless as all its predecessors.
When the Maryland Senate actually does something -- ANYTHING -- to protect our rights as free-born citizens, will someone please let me know? Right now, they are nothing more than a collection of ratfrakking bastards who deserve nothing but the emnity of EVERY citizen of the state of Maryland.
I am going to start warming up the barrel of tar. Someone else bring the feathers.
