O’Guvnah is Maryland’s latest perfect example of the Peter Principle: that in a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to the level of his incompetence.

If you thought we were done with this after former Governor Parris “Tomcat” Glendenning and Lt Governor KKT, you were wrong. Time and the Democrats march on.

First, let us cast our eyes upon the lands of Baltimore City, where Vernice Harris pleaded with help from a Baltimore City Department of Social Services casework a month before she allegedly overdosed her daughter with methadone, then beat her to death.  Vernice Harris got the all-too-familiar “talk to the hand” pose popular with bureaucrats.  By the way, the Baltimore City Department of Social Services is actually overseen by the STATE Department of Human Resources, since this isn’t the first time DSS has miserably failed to protect children.  Given the paucity of competent government employees (talk about a “structural deficit”) it certainly won’t be the last.

Here’s the amazing thing:  two older children had ALREADY been removed.  Brianna Harris was allowed to stay in a house infested with cockroaches and found to be absolutely filthy.  According to the Calvert Street Communist Party Newsletter, eighteen different caseworkers interacted with the Harris family over a seven-year period.  According to a report released on Tuesday by the State Department of Human Resources, caseworkers and supervisors failed to follow basic guidelines and policies, and did not even follow basic principles of good casework.

Gee, what gave you that clue, the dead child?

Next, let us visit the land of fiscal stupidity, where O’Guvnah managed to turn a $1.4 billion surplus into a $1.7 billion deficit in one year.  And then, he concocts a series of idiotic and stupefying taxes that will COST revenue, COST jobs, and COST economic growth.  That’s just great with an upcoming recession on the horizon.

And now, on top of that, with BRAC on the way, we are going to have an abominable approach to growth that is going to CHOKE central Maryland.  If you think MD 24 between US 1 and I-95 is bad now, wait until all those families start moving into Harford and Cecil Counties.  You think the backup that starts at MD 152 in the mornings is bad now, as BTO said, “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”  That will be billions more in infrastructure that will need to be built to support all the new jobs at APG.

Next, let us revisit the sheer incompetence of the Public Service Commission.  The O’Guvnah appointees were all going to be capable servants of the public, and would be able to roll back rate increases that are driving ratepayers of BGE to drink.  Since they didn’t work for utility companies in the past, their experience would focus on ratepayers.  And Rick Abruzzee – in justifying 46% pay increases – claimed that we had better talent now, and needed to retain that.

But there has been no rollback. In fact, rates for BGE ratepayers ARE GOING UP AGAIN IN JUNE.  Some talent.  Who is picking these guys, Peter Angelos?

Finally (for today, anyway), let’s visit the incompetent game of political payback played by O’Guvnah and his Dark Servant Mike “ManPerm” Miller.  Senator Rona Miller was stripped of her Subcommitte Chairmanship and Senator Jim Brochin was moved to the back of the Senate floor for voting against the tax increases during the special session. Did you guys miss Godfather II?  You don’t shoot Fredo until AFTER the mother died.  If you are too obvious, ManPerm, you might find Jim Brochin deciding to caucus with Senate Republicans permanently.

Appreciated your latest rock throwing effort here, but would like to remind the guys on your side of the Bridge that we suffer the same pains here, except the neglect in Annapolis is probably 10 fold what the rest of the State has to endure....I'm thinking specifically of the great electricity "debate", and ask that you all include in future dialogues the thief on the Shore...Delmarva Power.....I know they're inbred, but never forget that they are a problem for the better part of 19 precincts that didn't vote of O'Mick. And for what its worth, no way I see, anything happening on this "debate" until the 120 days prior to the next election....then they'll all be talking about it.
