McCain wins Florida.  Not surprising.  A lot of Republicans down there -- including Governor Charlie Crist and Senator Mel Martinez are HUGE fans out of outright amnesty for all those illegal little bastards.

But I don't care.  I still won't vote for John McCain.  Ever.  Satan himself (herself?) could be running on the Democrat ticket, and I won't pull the lever for John McCain.

I will not vote for a man running for President who writes legislation empowering theGovernment  to regulate political speech.  EVER.

He has a fundamental LACK of understanding of Conservative First Principles.  He is a big-government, my-way-or-the-highway, the Senate-is-sacrosanct politician who violates the Constitution on a whim.

He would DESTROY the United States economy to kow-tow to the environmentalists.  And he has zero grasp of energy policy.

And on taxes, he's a complete waffler.  He votes against tax cuts that created the SINGLE LARGEST DAY OF GOVERNMENT REVENUES IN HISTORY ON APRIL 15, 2007.  He says he would still vote against them.  But he insists that they be made permanent.  WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMOKING? WHICH IS IT?

Guess what Senator, you'll NEVER have my vote.

Excellent post, Gunpowder. You've summed up the feelings of quite a few conservatives out here. Hopefully Mitt gets his act together before next Tuesday - although he's far from the "perfect" candidate, he's the best that we've got at this point.

Gull--

Thank you for the kind words.

I'm not 100% sold on Mitt yet (and no, it's not because he is a Mormon).

There are some views that Ron Paul holds that I feel very appealing, but I cannot get past the fact that he allowed a newsletter with HORRENDOUS racialism to be published UNDER HIS NAME, yet claims he "didn't know" who wrote those views.

Like I said in a prior post, I am struggling with Electile Dysfunction.

How is campaign finance reform suppression of free speech? I cant wait until we go to publically financed elections. The fact that lobbying is a billions of dollar industry is disgusting and costs the taxpayers more than any welfare program or futile middle eastern war ever would.

And I have been around, just havent had much time with all the activity I have had lately. Plus it takes alot out of you to have to stick up for the minorities, gays, progressives and liberals that make up the Democratic Party. Ive also posted less because Ive come to the conclusion that it is pointless to try to provide insight to rightwing nutjobs who have a made up mind, feel they know everything while at the same time being unable to even differentiate between policy and politics or offer zero insider insight/experience.

Present company excluded, of course.
