Well, Randy Shelley is going to be building five new houses in Parkton, taking away some nice woodland and really screwing the neighborhood.  What else is new?

Shelley will be building five new houses in the 2100 block of York Road (just north and east of my house).  It shouldn't be long now before he starts clear cutting the trees along 83 just south of the MD 439 bridge.

More McMansions, less woods, less farmland.  This is "Smart Growth"?

Here is what I look forward:

1)  An exponential increase in truck traffic on southbound I-83 that causes nothing but noise and tremors;

2)  These new houses will be downwind of my landlord's new manure pit.  Yippee!

Of course, there are rumors that the current owner of this property acquired it less than honorably, but who really knows the truth?

"Less than honorable" and "Randy Shelley" in the same pargraph?
I'm shocked - shocked - that these two phrases could be used so close together!
How 'bout hi other questionable deal - the one that lets hime put 18 houses on Cotter Rd in exchange for donating land to the Hereford Rec Council.
At lease the Freeland Community Association was able to limit it - at great expense and time. Hopefully that other bozo group up there that insists they will carry the fight won't hose the settlement the association worked so hard to get.

Well, I am going to start pushing for state legislation that would ban the use of tax dollars for highway sound barriers between Shawan Road and the Pennsylvania Line. I personally don't think my tax dollars should be used to placate morons who build too close to the highway. My house is 8.5 feet from the shoulder of York Road-- do I get a highway barrier because Baltimore County is incapable of properly enforcing traffic laws (both speeding and truck restrictions)? Nope...
