Jihad Joe Albero, the Salisbury Cyberterrorist Extraordinaire, loves to bill his site as "Salisbury's Most Reliable and Unbiased for Your Local News".
Unfortunately, Jihad Joe has a horrible problem with doing any actual fact checking, and instead, relies upon his aural diarhea for what he calls "news".
In the post "I Thought These Lights Were Outlawed?", Jihad Joe launches a new fatwa against Peninsula Regional Medical Center, throwing a baseless accusation that the spotlights they used the other night were a) illegal and b) nothing more than advertising.
Of course, had Jihad Joe bothered to do any actual reporting or investigation, he might have learned what was going on.
This is National Prematurity Week, where the March of Dimes recognizes and raises awareness of the issue of premature births. This past Tuesday-- just LIKE THE PREVIOUS THREE YEARS -- Peninsula Regional Medical Center has partnered with the March of Dimes to participate in a ceremony to recognize the advances -- and the distance to go-- in preventing and treating premature babies.
The medical center joins hands with the local chapter of the March of Dimes and gather outside the front entrance with "graduates" of PRMC's neo-natal unit. The ceremony also includes remarks from a neonatalogist and families who have benefited from the efforts of the March of Dimes and the medical center. Families speak about their experiences, and when all is said and done, the kids line up holding a paper chain, and pull it. When they pull it, the spotlights come on. The lights run until 9pm, then they are shut down, and shipped back across the bridge.
For the rest of November, the Wall of the West Wing will be washed in pink and blue to recognize premature babies and to support the efforts of the March of Dimes.
Nothing illegal, and no advertising.
Perhaps Jihad Joe can stop working on destroying everything in Salisbury under the veil of a psuedo-investigative reporter and take the time from now on to do a little investigation. Like, maybe calling Roger Follebout to get the details, instead of making an ASSumption.
And before he goes and slams one of the state's top medical facilities, he might want to call the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and learn that Peninsula Regional regularly is awarded the highest accreditation possible. Or the Maryland Health Care Cost Review Commission. Or maybe review the M&M reports for PRMC versus some of his preferred facilities in PG and Anne Arundel Counties.
Of course, then Jihad Joe wouldn't be the great cyberterrorist, using innuendo and accusations to elevate his own ego at the expense of institutions that are really doing for Salisbury.
