According to WBAL-TV.com, Mayo Shattuck and BGE plan to ask for a rate increase on the electricity delivery charge in 2008.
He is nuts.
BGE is whining that they cannot get investment partners and lenders to help with upgrading metering technology unless they make more money.
What? Banks only lend you money when you don't need it? You don't say!
Welcome to our world, dumbass.
By the way "Mayonaise", there is pole right outside my house that has a tag that says "to be replaced". The tag has been there FOR 10 FRACKIN YEARS. My delivery charge is supposed to cover pole replacement. When will ever get around to replacing it?
My delivery charge is also supposed to cover tree trimming. But your recent crew of illegal-immigrants, none of whom spoke a lick of English, really fracked the poodle when they came through last time. The cut down limbs that wouldn't have gotten anywhere near your distribution lines in 5 years, and ignored limbs THAT LAY DIRECTLY ON THE DROP FROM POLE. Oh, and they damn near broke a window AND tore 30 feet of downspout off the porch. Had I not been home to threaten their lives in my feeble little Spanish, you'd have a pneumatic saw poking out of your rectum right now.
Before the Public Disservice Commission allows them to raise that rate one fracking penny, these questions should be answered in detail. When will poles be replaced that have been tagged for 10 years? When will they use REAL arborists to handle their tree trimming? And when will customers of BGE start to see a real return on their rates?
"Mayonaise" wanted to make BGE and Constellation non-regulated. He wanted them to compete in the open market. Now they want to cry when they can't optimize the investments MADE BY THEIR CUSTOMERS over the last 70 years.
Get with it pal, and stop looking for the government handout. Because that is all a rate increase for delivery charges would be.
