The Stalinists -- oops, I mean, Democrats -- in Congress are planning to hide behind their human shield children.
They are tying passage of the standalone Defense Authorization and Veterans Affairs spending bills to their new version of the rapacious SCHIP bill.
That's right. Hiding behind children to reverse a string of bad news cycles.
This is leadership?
The simple fact is that the Stalinists -- oops, I mean Democrats -- in Congress campaigned heavily on their ability to put an end to the war in Iraq by any means necessary. Including defunding troops in the field, slandering them, and disgracefully declaring the strategy of a general they unanimously approved "lost" before it had started.
And despite the fact that they have a majority in both houses of Congress, they haven't been able to achieve one iota of their campaign against the war in Iraq. Fat Jack Murtha has been shown to be nothing more than a pure asshole blowhard. Even Nancy "My Daddy Was Mobbed Up" Pelosi is falling out of favor with her nutroot pals on the left.
Then comes SCHIP, which ranks as the biggest entitlement giveaway since the Medicare Part D scam. Funding health insurance for families that should be paying for it themselves, creating a massive new health insurance program for adults up to age 25, and failing to really solve the problem, the new SCHIP expansion is a pure lefty, socialist scam.
But they can't get it through Congress with a veto-proof majority.
So now they want to hide behind the children and hurt our troops in the field -- and those who have fought hard for this country.
Nancy Pelosi calls this leadership?
It's not. Only a whore would call this leadership. This is nothing more than a shakedown. (Something she is certainly familiar with since her daddy was mob-owned when he was Mayor of Mobtown).
Here's a idea for the Democrats.
Vote up or down on the bills by themselves.
Pass an SCHIP bill that expands coverage to only the poorest families -- up to 200% of the poverty level.
Solve the immediate problem NOW. And then learn how to convince a majority of the American people that creating ANOTHER entitlement is worth the cost.
That would be some leadership.
