Conservatives are  making too much of the lastest Obama controversy.  Their contrived indignation over his refusal to wear a flag pin is a little too shrill-- and a little too stupid.

So he doesn't wear a flag pin.  Big deal. Wearing a flag pin no more makes you a patriot than wearing  a campaign cover makes you a drill instructor.

I don't wear a flag pin.  Am I anti-American?  I stopped flying a flag on the house because I took down the light to properly illuminate it at night after the BGE rate increase.  Am I anti-American?

Patriotism isn't worn on your sleeve.  It lives in your heart and your mind.  It isn't displayed by props, but your actions.

Conservatives should be going after Barak Hussein Obama based on his ideas and policy proposals.  They should be countering his blather with conservative ideas, not some contrived indignation over wearing a pin.  Shine the light on his socialist approach to government and his political philosophy.

But stop playing these stupid, childish games over what pins some idiot does (or doesn't) wear.
