As you may have heard, the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Foundation is currently raising funds for a new mobile health services van dubbed the Wagner Wellness Van. Have you contributed yet?
The van is named in honor of my late stepmother, Debra J. Wagner. Debbie was a 32 year veteran of Peninsula Regional Medical Center. She worked in nearly every capacity in the nursing service at Peninsula Regional, and was a major part of the community health outreach efforts. If you ever had a flu shot at one of the drive-thru flu clinics, then you know about Debbie's impact in community health on the lower Eastern Shore.
The new van will provide outreach services on the Delmarva Peninsula by offering medical screenings. These screenings will include blood pressure, hearing, visual testing, diabetes testing and bone density testing. Community flu vaccinations, separate from our Drive-Thru Flu Clinic, will also be provided on the van.

Support for this project has been immense. Recently, the Foundation received almost $90,000 in donations for the van from three distinct groups. Later this week, I will have a post about with more details on some of these donors.
If you haven't given yet, please consider. You can use the form in the PDF, or call the Foundation at 410-543-7140.
