During General Petreaus' testimony before the United States Senate, Senator Hillary Clinton claimed that listening to the general's testimony required a "willing suspension of disbelief".
This is code. What that phrase means is that Senator Hillary Clinton believes that the general is lying.
Takes one to know one.
But more to the point of this post, Senator Clinton is acting in the most dishonorable fashion, especially for a United States Senator.
First, if the Senator believes that the general is lying, she is duty-bound to make such a charge to the Army's Judge Advocate General. That she has not done so -- nor does she appear willing to do so -- is a reflection that the charge is false. That is slander. And the United States Constitution does not protect the Senator from any civil charge, whether she is involved in legislative business or not. (Note: Senators and Congressman do have immunity against criminal charges while engaged in legislative business or travelling to a legislative meeting). Using a United States Senate Committee Hearing to slander a witness is McCarthyism at its worst.
Second, if the Senator were to issue the same charge against another Senator in a committee hearing or on the Senate floor -- say, Lindsay Graham for example -- would immediately be in violation of Senate rules and brought before the Senate Ethics Committee (such as it is).
Third, if the Senator believes that General Petraeus is lying before a Senate Committee, she is -- once again -- duty-bound to charge him and seek a Contempt of Congress order. She has not. Once again, she is guilty of slander.
Simply put, Hillary Clinton is a Senator with no honor and no sense of duty. She has her seat because of who she married, and who she slept with. There is no doubt that her Senate seat was the price that Bill Clinton -- and the country -- paid for Bill Clinton's daliances over the years. It seems that Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, and Elizabeth Ward Grazen weren't the only ones who got frakked by Bill Clinton over the years.
Now this woman (note: I did not say Lady) is running for President. She wants to be Commander-In-Chief of the United States Armed Forces. She wants to be General Petraeus' Commander-In-Chief. Who is she kidding? She has no business being a Commander-In-Chief, even if it was only the Symbionese Liberation Army.
Her behavior was, is, and will remain forever dishonorable. Shame -- and nothing more -- should be imputed to her.
