Well, not really. Be warned: Runaround Sue is not covered by the shield law for journalists in this state. But worse, he is none too bright when it comes to cleaning up source emails.
I refer, of course, to his post "The Following Message Was Sent To Me & Not Verified……….".
The post is about some alleged Hanky-Panky with the construction of University Square, building inspections, meddling by state politicians and university officials, and Harkins Builders.
Actually, the letter sounds reasonable. Salisbury University, through their puppet mascot Norman "Triple Dipper $1500" Conway (He Wears the Union Label-- it just says "Bought for Song"), are often throwing their weight around. I wouldn't be surprised if it were true.
But at the end, the letter writer says, "Please do not reveal me as a source as I don’t want to succumb to retaliatory acts of the establishment. But if you research the subject it should be quite easy to verify all that I’ve stated."
Of course, in a prior paragraph, the writer also says, "You want to know how I know so much, because I performed all of the lawn irrigation for the initial construction phase and saw first hand how it all transpired."
Ummm, that paragraph probably should have been left out. Given that it was a contracted job, it would be easy enough to track down the sub responsible for all the lawn irrigation.
Smooth move, there Ex-lax. Way to "protect your sources".
