Well, I spent this week working hard.  So I didn't get to post much.  And I spent part of today working, and when I realized it was getting late and my cigar supply was running low, I headed out to my favorite smoke shop (The Humidour) to stock up.

But when I got back, the WildTurkey Phone was ringing off the hook, and my Eastern Shore friends had lit up a giant bottle of bourbon in the sky.  So off to the Bourbon Cave to decode the secret messages...

After lighting up a Montecristo #2, I settled in with my secret decoder ring, a copy of James Michener's Chesapeake (it's a complicated decoding process that uses every 15,000th word in the novel on a shifting basis for day of the week and month in the old Roman calendar for a cipher key), and the secret messages.

It turns out that our old friend Runaround Sue has posted a sign in his window on his property on Main Street that says "sbynews.com".  Here is a picture of the sign that I took from that very site:

Did Joe get a permit for this sign?

(note: Photo by Joe Albero).

The secret messages were curious as to whether Runaround Sue (aka, Joe Albero) had obtained proper approval and permitting allowing him to post a sign on his commercial property.  Apparently, such a thing is required in Downtown Salisbury.  Given Runaround Sue's proclivity for running around and pointing out everyone else's alleged infractions, I thought a little of Sue's medicine would be good for him.

Of course, by the time you read this, the sign might be gone.  But here it is preserved, saved for all eternity, or as long as I choose to keep this blog running.

(Oh, and before Runaround Sue gets his panties all bunched up around the sphincter, this is not a copyright violation.  First, he was attributed.  Second, it falls under the Fair Use Doctrine.  If he wants to sue me, he better bring more than Ocean City's own Lionel Hutz to the table.)

(One other thing: if you don't get the joke about Chesapeake and every 15,000th word, you probably shouldn't be reading this blog.)

Tim,

For the life of me I simply don't understand your getting so petty with a Post like this. Honestly Tim, people are going to see right through you on this one and your anger, jealousy and bnitterness towards me.

However, I doubt VERY seriously that the Mayor or anyone else would want to challenge me on this sign as I have hundreds of photos of businesses Downtown with signs, posters and mesages all over their window space. Take the AIG for instance. There are posters and signs everywhere.

Anyhow, it's a can of worms they don't want to open and I personally think you're wasting good space on your Blog about something like this. Oh, no lawsuit is in hand. Thanks for the free advertising. However, it would be nice for you to ask first, I would have been happy to allow you to use my photo.

It appears that Joe may have finally got his much needed prescription for Prozac!
