Guvnah Marty The Mick O'Malley, General Secretary of Maryland's own version of the Communist Party USA, is at long last starting to unveil his strategy to overcome the "structural deficit" that a decade of teat-sucking by the General Politburo in Soddom on the Severn has given us.

His strategy can be broken down into three separate programs:

1)  Break any and all campaign promises used to whore votes from all his left-wing, on-the-dole constituents in metropolitan Baltimore and the Washington suburbs.

2)  Raise each and every tax he possibly can and kill small business.

3)  Continue to let his politico buddies and financial supporters suck at the teat of Maryland government while he screws the actual hard-working citizens of the state.

Let's take each one line by line.

1)  Break any and all campaign promises used to whore votes from all his left-wing, on-the-dole constituents in metropolitan Baltimore and the Washington suburbs.

"Thornton Commission" funding is reportedly gone.  Out the window.  See ya.  When Governor Ehrlich suggested that funding might need to be cut back (note: he never fully funded it, either), he was pilloried as a hobgoblin that hated children.

I've never been a big fan of the Thornton Commission findings, because I think they never really addressed the real issues behind public education's failure in Maryland.  Instead, I always thought they were throwing good money after bad.  Especially in Baltimore City, which can neither count money, nor make sure that contracted work is done.

But O'Malley ran his campaign on promising full funding of Thornton-- even the aspects that would provide funding for discrepancies in local revenue across the state.  And that promise was directed at key constituencies in Baltimore City and Prince George's County.

Remember, O'Malley always screws his friends.  Just ask Ed Norris, Richard Clarke, and Sade Baderinwa.

2)  Raise each and every tax he possibly can and kill small business.

The Guvnah is a lawyer, so his knowledge of economics is, well, let's just say he couldn't find a Laffer Curve with both hands, a flashlight, and a map.

But the Guvnah has decided to both raise the sales tax AND expand its coverage to a variety of services.

What the Guvnah doesn't realize is that:

a)  Increases in the sales tax rate affect small businesses much more than any other business (or government agency for that matter) since they are much more vulnerable to the elasticity of consumer demand.

b)  Expanding the coverage to other services (like hair salons/barbers) affects small business much more than other business, because almost all of these other services are small businesses.

c)  Small business in the United States of America makes up 96% of all business entities. They also represent the largest pool of employers.  Hitting them up with new sales taxes -- and thus making them less competitive -- will mean less jobs, less employment, and failed businesses.

That is what having a lefty-lawyer type in charge of the State House will get you.

(Interesting fact:  the Guvnah is a big supporter of Hillary for Prez.  Did you know that Hillary's campaign--with over 350 staffers -- is now in the top 4% of employers in this country?  That's right, that 96% mentioned above employee less than 350 employees each.)

3)  Continue to let his politico buddies and financial supporters suck at the teat of Maryland government while he screws the actual hard-working citizens of the state.

The left-wing members of the General Assembly -- like Norm Conway -- can sleep comfortably at night, knowing that that they can continue to saunter their fat asses up to the public trough and slop away like the hogs they are, continuing to dole out money and tax breaks to their favorite contributors.  Have some land on the Eastern Shore you want to sell the state at 2x the market value?  No problem.  Own an international Education company headquartered in downtown Baltimore, and want to continue avoiding having to pay back $10 million in tax breaks you were given but never earned?  No problem.

Work hard 50-70 hours a week -- maybe at two jobs -- trying to raise a family or buy a home or even just trying to afford gas and going to Jiffy Lube?  Now you know how Sade Baderinwa felt.
