In case you missed it, I got a nice mention in The Daily Times "Story Chat" feature.  You can read the post here.

While my numbers aren't stellar, it's good to know that folks like accomack_transplant think this site is worth reading.

Some bloggers are obsessed with numbers.  I am not.  I know who reads my postings.  Many choose not to comment.  Some because they can't due to who they are and what they do, others because they don't know how, and a few because they think that posting "I agree" serves no purpose.  All those choices are fine with me.

Anyway, thanks for the shoutout, and if there is something you want to see me write on, contact me at blog@gunpowderchronicle.com.

GP - no thanks necessary. I find your blog to be a refreshing and thought provoking read, even when I don't agree with what is written. Many times I have thought to pass on to your father that he did a good job raising you, but I fear doing so would "out" me, so to speak. It's a shame that this town is full of so many in power who are petty, vindictive and spiteful that you have to fear expressing an opinion on a topic that is counter to what is considered "politically correct". Freedom of speech is an eroding right - attacked not so much by government per se, as it is from the wealthy and powerful in the private sector who would use their power to make one a pariah.

AT-

Thanks for the kind words.

In terms of the vindictiveness of certain people, you know, I don't see that in terms of public officials as much as others do (and that might not be who you were referring to).

The Mayor, Gary Comegys, Mike Lewis and others all know who I am and know about this blog, and never once has my dad mentioned that it has caused any blowback against him in the myriad of things he does. And I have been VERY critical of things some of them have done.

In fact, the only person who has ever threatened me -- with legal action or otherwise -- was Runaround Sue (and hence his new moniker, as it seems appropriate).

But I think you are right that there are others who would put the screws to you anyone given the chance.

So, keep your identity secret and your sanity intact.

Tim,
I agree with your assessment. I am talking about the "real" power in this town, not the elected kind.
Keep up the good work.
