Dear John Pick,

Why do you volunteer to fall on swords?  The next time you decide to block a website, just do it.  Don't announce it.

It's really not that hard.  If you are running a Cisco IOS-based firewall, a simple line will do it.  Ask your IT guy.  Or give me a call.

Or, you could do it through a domain policy on your ActiveDirectory server, and push out a new hosts file to everyone's machine, simply redirecting any requests for the site to another IP.

Trust me, do it quietly, and don't announce it.  All you do is feed the monster, and we all know he doesn't need feeding.

Regards,

The Gunpowder Chronicle.

Maybe you should just call him and offer to do it. Hell, I'll pay your fee to do it and I don't even live in Wicomico county!
Just make sure you watch for the mushroom cloud over Delmar when he finds out! LMAO

I think the problem is the City doesn't have their own IT department, they use the County one. Perhaps there is only one Internet connection in which the county controls the border router and Internet filter. The city may even use the counties Active Directory server, making it more time consuming to implement a city only group policy. I really don't know and can only speculate.

Well, I will leave it up to him. I am sure he knows who I am. And I know he knows how to get in touch with me.
