Rise to Rebellion by Jeff Sharaa.  Jeff is the son of Michael Sharaa, the author of "Killer Angels".  In Rise to Rebellion, he tracks the beginning of the Revolution from the time of the Boston Massacre to the Battle of New York.  It's an easy read, compelling, fictionalized, and enjoyable.

The Last Full Measure by Jeff Sharaa.  The final book in the Civil War Trilogy started by his father with "The Killer Angels" follows Joshua Chamberlain, Ulysses Grant, James Longstreet, and Robert E. Lee from Mine Run Operation in the fall of 1863 through to Appomattox.  Another easy read, full of detail and insight.

Gettysburg:  Culp's Hil and Cemetery Hill
by Henry Pfanz.  An overly detailed, disjointed account of the actions on the backside of the Union line at Gettysburg.  Ultimately, it is a poorly constructed attempt to resurrect the reputations of Oliver O. Howard (Commander, 11th Corps, Army of the Potomac) and Richard S. Ewell (Commander, 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia).

Unto This Hour
by Tom Wicker.  I first read this book in 5th grade (25 years ago).  It was a gift from an Aunt.  Since I never throw out books, this one has remained in my library, and I decided to read it again.  It's a compelling fictionalized account of the Second Battle of Bull Run, which was probably Robert E. Lee's most audacious and boldest strategic victory.  Of course, since it is written by the very liberal Tom Wicker, there is a bizzarre homosexual theme that runs through the book.  Overall, it is a great book, though, and does a fine job covering the historical aspects of this often-ignored battle.
