Maryland, My Maryland!  The Despot's Heal is On Thy Shore!

This line from our old State song speaks perfectly to the situation we face now in the Old Line state.

As Soddom on the Severn gears up and Marylanders start grabbing their ankles, the fundamental question we should ask: will K-Y jelly be taxed to?

There's a huge brouhaha growing (or brewing?) over the nomination of Judge Mukaskey to be the next Attorney General and the issue of waterboarding.

The problem:  it's all bullshit.

The Westboro Baptist Church -- that group of ridiculous Kansans who claim to be Christians and picket soldier's funerals saying "God Loves Dead Soldiers" -- got slapped down in court today.

And that is a good thing.

If this report by Craign Franklin in the Christian Science Monitor, it does not speak well for the "drive by media", who can hardly be relied up to do anything investigation-related.

Make sure you read the whole thing.

Peter Franchot, the state Comptroller, and usually a reliable lefty collectivist, seems to be the only elected adult in Maryland state government.

He is urging the legislature to wait until the tax estimates report comes out in December before acting in haste to rape Maryland taxpayers.

Bravo for him!

Read more in the O'Malley Gazette.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

In an update to my earlier post "Bad Judge Makes Bad Law" , word is out on the O'Malley Gazette that Baltimore County Circuit Court Administrative Judge John G. Turnbull II has granted a prosecution request to delay the start of the trial of Bryan Keith Rose as a result of Judge Souder's ridiculous ruling that fingerprint evidence cannot be used in the trial.

In the words of Prosecutor Jason League, "This ruling virtually overturns 100 years of jurisprudence with respect to the admissibility of latent fingerprint evidence."

Meanwhile, the family of Warren T. Fleming is denied the opportunity to see his alleged murderer brought to justice.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

Thanks, Judge Souder.  I hope you are never the victim of a crime where the prosecution has to rely on fingerprint evidence.

The O'Malley Gazette is reporting this morning that Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Susan M. Souder has barred the use of partial prints in the murder trial of Bryan Keith Rose.  Rose is charged in the murder of Warren T. Fleming outside of Security Square Mall in January of 2006.

The order issued by High Priestess Souder is bad law and trumps our jury system.

According to the O'Malley Gazette, the fix is in on the Guvnah's proposed tax package.  Senate President Mike "ManPerm" Miller and Speaker Michael "Double Dipper" Busch feel confident that they can deliver both houses for the latest rape of Marylanders by our "beloved" government.

I think this is a good question give state Senator Andy Harris' affiliation with Jihad Joe Albero.  Jihad Joe Albero has been waging a firefighter jihad against the members and leadership of the Salisbury Fire Department for some time, but he has recently been throwing around reckless charges of racism directed not just at senior leadership, but at all firefighters in the department.

So the question must be:  does Andy Harris support local firefighters in Salisbury?

Nancy Pelosi is a fool.  She does not understand that as Speaker of the House, she has little if any role to play in foreign relations.  Yet, she continues to interfere in foreign relations that cost lives, prestige, and allies for the United States.  And now she might just kick off a little war.

Do we really need California?  The Associated Press reports that San Francisco is preparing to open the nation's first "safe injection" room.  Yup, that's right-- the San Francisco city government is opening a government funded, government run facility to help drug addicts and hopheads to "inject safely".  Guess what:  they are even going to provide nurses!

Word is out that Jorja Fox-- who plays CSI Sarah Sidle -- has bailed on CSI, and has shot her final episode.

More here.

Frankly, I say thank God.  Marj Helgenbrenner was always the hotter female star on the show.  And the love-interest story with Gil Grissom was getting old (and dumb).

Sayonara, Jorja!

One of the criticisms of applying the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Service Act)  Law to communications between foreign nationals not in the US -- but whose calls pass through the US -- has been that it takes too long to put into action.

In the case of the "ticking time bomb", this can be a real problem.

But what happens when it's not a ticking time bomb, but soldiers who have kidnapped on the battlefield?

The lawyers muck it up pretty good.

The irrepressible Larry Elder has a great column at Human Events this week detailing the crazy nature of people who think they fit into the "have nots".

But more importantly-- he takes to task those members of the Stalinist Collectivism party who would lie and cheat about the mythical "two Americas" to exacerbate the problem.

Things the Drive By Media and leftist Democrats like Jack Murtha doesn't want you to know:

Haditha was a setup.

Michelle Malkin has it all here.

When will Fat Jack Murtha apologize?  Never.  The arrogant Jabba the Hut of Western Pennsylvania would never apologize to his fellow Marines.  Perhaps someone should jab an eagle, globe and anchor into his forehead to remind him of his oath.

He's a shameful fat slob-- an unindicted co-conspirator in Abscam.  Maybe he is still a co-conspirator with Arabs bent on destroying this country.

Last year, the National Federation for the Blind (headquartered in beautiful Baltimore, MD) sued Target Stores because their website was not fully compatible with "screen readers" used by the blind and thus violated the American with Disabilities Act.

This week, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals-- which is more representative of the cantina in Star Wars than American jurisprudence-- certified the case as a class action and allowed it to move forward.

The blind are rising, and it isn't a good thing...

Admiral Mike Mullen was swore in as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs on Monday, taking over from Marine General Peter Pace.  I think the promotion of Adminiral Mullen to the JCS Chair -- immediately after a Marine General -- highlights the increasing importance of the Naval Service to what has been termed the "Long War".  The United States Nava
