The Gunpowder Chronicle

Well, no not really.  But sometimes it is bizarre.  Our quiet little community here along the banks of Bush Cabin Run above Big Gunpowder Falls -- way back off the main road -- was struck by burglars the other night.  The Barbers were the victims of thieves from Baltimore City who broke into their garage. According to a note they left in the mailboxes over the weekend,  the thieves stole a vehicle in Baltimore City and drove it to the city limits where the idiots apparently ran out of gas.

Then, they stole a minivan and drove it up here to the Hereford Zone where they ended up here in the vale of the Gunpowder.  They apparently had the smarts to rip the seats out of the minivan, dump them on the Barber's property along with some property from the minivan's owner, and load up the minivan with assorted items from the Barber's garage.  The burglary apparently happened between midnight and 5AM on Thursday morning.  The minivan was later recovered in the city, stripped.

While the burglary was most likely a random event, one is poised to wonder:  why Masemore Road?  Why so far back?  There are houses much closer to the main road (Mt. Carmel) and I-83.  One hopes that Captain Lurz of the Cockeysville Precinct will be able to provide some answers.
