The Maryland budget is a complete mess. Already this fiscal year, the Governor of Maryland and the rest of his merry band on the Board of Public Works have been required to shave almost one billion dollars from the operating budget of the state. To make matters worse, we know that tax revenues – across the board – continue to project downwards, despite the increase of the sales tax and the increasing of the income tax for the “the wealthy” during the Secret Special Session. Reasonable people of any political stripe know that you cannot spend what you do not have. Unlike the Federal Government, the State of Maryland cannot engage in whorish deficit spending. But there is also a floor. The Board of Public Works cannot cut more than twenty-five percent of allocated dollars, either. We have hit the floor.

The monstrously bad eminent domain case Kelo v New London came to a final ignominious end yesterday, proving how pathetically feckless and stupid the Supreme Court justices can be when they try to “interpret” the “living constitution” into something it isn’t. Pfizer – the company that New London, Connecticut officials were performing fellatio on when they seized private homes from Suzanne Kelo and her neighbors – is closing the New London research facility that created the grief.

The Stupak Amendment, which essentially extends the Hyde Amendment to cover the Monstrously Fascistic Health Care Bill, passed 240-194-1. In this post, I will highlight those members of the Maryland Delegation that voted NO, in essence supporting the Federal Funding of Abortions, continuing the genocide against the unborn that began with Roe v Wade in 1973, claiming over 51 million lives.

The Baltimore Sun has been rife with news about the fact that Black & Decker is being purchased by Stanley Works. But no one at the Sun (or the Baltimore Business Journal for that matter) have looked at the real “beginning of the end” for Black & Decker. The straw that broke the camel’s back wasn’t the recession – although that didn’t help. The straw that broke the camel’s back was Home Depot.

Bill Owens, recently elected Congressman for the NY-23, broke four campaign promises in just twenty fours. I don’t know if that is a record, but it certainly puts him in line to follow in the footsteps of the Feckless President, Barack Obama.

Massachusetts Congressman Barney Franks, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, was present at his lover’s house in Ogunquit, Maine when James Ready was arrested for pot possession in 2007. Ready is the latest in a string of Franks lovers who has brought controversy down on the openly gay Congressman.

On January 27, 2009, less than a week after his inauguration as President of the United States, Baracky told the audience of an Arabic-language television channel (Al Arabiya) that he hoped to restore “the same respect and partnership that America had with the Muslim world as recently as 20 or 30 years ago, there's no reason why we can't restore that.” I can only ask what Baracky was doing in his younger years, because I was alive (and quite aware) back then, and my factual recollection of history is a little bit different.

The feckless President of the United States doesn’t see America as a great country that three times saved Europe from its perennial insanity. This is the only reasonable conclusion after he has dodged the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall – a striking moment in history that saw the peaceful reunification not just of Germany, but of all Europe. When the Berlin Wall came down in November of 1989, that great Iron Curtain that had settle throughout Europe came down with it. It was a moment of tremendous triumph for lovers of freedom.

I don’t like Congress. In case you haven’t picked up on that, you should now. I think the US Congress is nothing more than a collection of whores, shylocks, crooks, criminals, bastards, liars, and thieves. I think they illustrate perfectly the conundrum painted by the character Benjamin Martin in The Patriot: “Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away?” After the so-called “stimulus bill”, and “TARP”, and their complete lack of oversight into how TARP was used, I frankly think the entire Congress should be lined up against the wall of the Capitol Rotunda and shot. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and Socialists. My enmity towards the Federal Legislature knows no discriminating line. If you have a nest of snakes, you have to kill all of them.
Congress is frankly out of control, and has been for quite a while. And now is the time to make them “take the bit” and rein them in a little. And I think I have a good idea on that matter.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!
I recently purchased Battlestar Galactica THE PLAN, which was supposed to be a mini-movie to wrap up many of the questions surrounding the plan of the fictional Cylons the series and the mini-series. As you might recall, the intro of the show always ended with “And they have a plan.” But the show, doomed after season three to pedantic, pathetic writing as it careened from gripping drama into political commentary, never resolved what the plan was. In fact, the show eventually gave up on the plan.
Well, purchasing this movie was an absolute mistake.
